Mental Health First Aid
The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training course was developed to help people provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course discusses Mental Health and Mental Health Problems, Substance Related Problems as well as Mood, Anxiety and Psychotic Disorders. Crisis first aid skills for the following situations are learned: Substance overdose, suicidal behaviour, panic attack, acute stress reaction and psychotic episode.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training program (ASIST) via Livingworks is for everyone 16 years old or older – regardless of experience – who wants to be able to provide suicide first aid. Shown by major studies to significantly reduce suicidality, the ASIST model teaches effective intervention skills while helping to build suicide prevention networks in the community, and helping create suicide first aid responders who are more ready, willing and able to help prevent the immediate risk of suicide.
Pre-hospital care and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. Course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR level HCP and AED.
Emergency First Aid
Basic one-day course offering and overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.
